To “trim” on a surfboard means to position your surfboard so it can travel as fast as possible across a wave, without turning, to maintain position on the face of the wave.
At age 35 I decided that I wanted to learn to surf and travel the world to find waves. Three years later, after intense planning and saving, my husband and I quit our jobs to follow our dream for a year of travel and surf. We drove the entire length of Baja and Mainland Mexico, then flew to the nether regions of Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia – searching for waves and the meaning of life.
I truly believe travel, especially to “thin places“, can transform anyone.
